What we stand for 

Our mission is to empower and transform low income communities providing win-win outcomes for all in the food value chain. Our target customers are in Africa's emerging markets, typically small and medium sized food manufacturers, smallholder farmers, and low income urban consumers. 

Our team brings together a unique mix of many years experience in African smallholder agriculture and action learning among all value chain players along with that of user-led collaborative cloud technology development. 


Dr Clive Lightfoot is an Agricultural scientist and social entrepreneur with over thirty years of experience in Africa and Asia focussed on agro-ecology and smallholder farmer value chain research and development.


 


Roman Weber has 25 years of experience in the IT industry and more than 20 years of consulting experience with IBM collaboration software, starting from Version 2.0. More than 7 of these years were spent working as a corporate consultant at PWC, where he acquired valuable know-how that our customers can benefit from. He founded WebGate with partners in 2001 and is CEO 



Ueli Scheuermeier is an Agriculturalist and social entrepreneur with over thirty years of experience in rural enterprise development specialising in peer-exchange learning among smallholder farmers and value chain players. 


 

Peter Luder brings an economics research background and over thirty years experience pioneering 'user led' programming in software development, ERP systems and cloud collaboration solutions.



Anne Dennig is an educational consultant with twenty five years experience as a teacher. Since 2003 she has been documenting the learning experiences of groups of smallholder farmers and rural businesses in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda on building learning systems for improving small farmer access to markets.
